Comprehension Check #2

Dec 11

Pick your Professor

Instead of a final exam in this class, you will be taking a second comprehension check. You can opt to take this during our regular class meeting on Monday, December 9th or Wednesday, December 11th — you can only (and must) take the check once, so you only need to attend one of these sessions; you can pick which one you attend.

In class, you’ll be given a ~30 question comprehension check. The questions will all be drawn from (or will be extremely similar to) the comprehension quiz questions you’ve completed for the daily readings throughout the semester.

There will be a couple review questions (taken from Comp. Check #1), and the majority of questions will be drawn from these topics:

  • Question Everything (Socrates)
  • Escape Your Cave (Plato)
  • Doubt Everything (Descartes)
  • Believe Your Truth (Mill)
  • Take a Leap of Faith (James)
  • There is a God (Aquinas and Anselm)
  • Embrace the Absurd (Kierkegaard)
  • There is No God (Hume, Problem of Evil)
  • Choose Your Meaning (Jean-Paul Sartre)
  • Make Friends (Aristotle)
  • Find Meaning in Tradition (Confucius)
  • Work and the Good Life (Marx, Weber)
