Film Discussion: First Reformed

Mon, Nov 19

Guest Speaker: Richard Herbst

We will be screening the film First Reformed as a class.  If you are in the 9:25am class, we have booked Browning Cinema for 5pm on Wednesday 11/7.  If you are in the 10:30am class, we have booked Browning Cinema for 5pm on Wednesday 11/14.  Attending a screening and writing a brief reflection will give you credit for one homework assignment.

In this live class session, Richard Herbst (Cinema Program Director, Browning) will lead a discussion about how the film explores themes of faith, hope, and existential despair.

Do This:

  1. Homework: Truth or Dare
  2. Read the instructions for the Apology rough draft (due 11/29).
  3. Prepare for your Apology TED Talk.
